Magnolia Marketing

I started working for Magnolia Marketing through the Tennessee Youth Experience Program, a state apprenticeship program, in May 2024. This summer-long program provided me with invaluable experience in understanding the behind-the-scenes operations of businesses and what it takes to run a successful enterprise. My apprenticeship began with reading Michael Gerber's "The E-Myth Revisited," where I learned about the importance of systematizing business processes, the distinction between working on your business versus in your business, and the necessity of creating a consistent, repeatable model for success. I applied this newfound knowledge to Magnolia Marketing's business operations. My main responsibility was to develop the foundational systems of the business, starting with organizational systems. I created the organizational chart, job descriptions, and position contracts. I then moved on to management systems, which included creating an operations manual and documenting all of our systems and standard operating procedures (SOPs). I developed a system to identify and document other systems as well.

I focused on populating the operations manual with all the necessary business information, including training manuals and an employee handbook. This effort extended to people systems, where I created and developed our hiring and onboarding processes for new employees. This included implementing detailed orientation meetings, role-specific training, and continuous feedback mechanisms to ensure seamless integration and development of new hires. Additionally, I took on various tasks for clients, such as website design and managing Google Business Profiles. I am very proud of all that I have accomplished in only eight short weeks here and look forward to bringing that pride in my work to whatever I do in the future. Through these efforts, I helped to ensure clarity, accountability, and efficiency across the team at Magnolia Marketing.

I now serve as the SEO Specialist and Technical Manager at Magnolia Marketing, where I lead SEO strategies to improve search engine rankings, drive traffic, and optimize client websites. I also oversee the technical department, managing web development projects, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring the seamless execution of all digital initiatives. In this role, I work closely with both clients and the internal team to deliver top-quality services, continuously optimizing our systems and processes to drive performance and innovation. These efforts ensure that Magnolia Marketing remains at the forefront of digital marketing and technological excellence.
