Tennessee Small Business Development Center
During my senior year in college, I had the opportunity to intern at the Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC). This experience was fantastic, offering a great work environment where I felt like I learned more in that year than I did in my four years of college. I gained a deep understanding of how businesses operate, especially in the areas of marketing and brand awareness. My favorite part of the internship was working one-on-one with business owners and witnessing their excitement when we delivered on a project, seeing firsthand how our efforts directly impacted their small businesses.
I found a niche in SEO, Google Business Profiles, and web design, primarily using Squarespace. My responsibilities included developing business plans, identifying growth opportunities, and crafting marketing strategies for clients. I utilized graphic design software to create graphics, social media posts, and other marketing materials. Additionally, I provided one-on-one consultations to entrepreneurs and small business owners, offering insights on branding and marketing strategies. Participating in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to solve real-world business challenges was also a significant aspect of my role. This internship was invaluable and greatly enhanced my practical knowledge and skills in business and marketing.
Below, you can find a list of different clients I have directly worked with, my portfolio of websites I have either built from the ground up or redesigned, and examples of graphic designs and marketing plans I’ve made.
